2024: Wave Guide Batch Release
JSC RESHETNEV (part of the State Corporation Roscosmos) has manufactured and supplied a batch of waveguides for serial space equipment, which is developed and produced by the Russian Space Systems Holding (RKS). The expansion of cooperation relations between Roscosmos companies is aimed at solving the strategic task of transferring the rocket and space industry to a new industrial model. Reshetnev announced this on September 24, 2024.
Waveguides are designed for use in on-board and target satellite equipment - these are radio products for receiving and transmitting an electromagnetic signal. To complete one satellite and all its equipment, a large number of waveguides are required - sometimes over a thousand units, respectively, Roscosmos enterprises combine their production capabilities to provide large-scale products with an increase in the domestic orbital grouping.
Deputy General Director of JSC RESHETNEV for production Evgeny Patraev. We designed and began mass production of waveguides in a short time. The batch handed over to RKS was manufactured and tested in accordance with the specified requirements. In the context of the announced program to increase the Russian orbital grouping and increase the need for components, we plan to increase the volume of production of waveguides. To do this, they created almost completely localized production at Reshetnyov in cooperation with our permanent partner, the RKS holding, |
Roscosmos companies are mastering the ideology of organizing technological processes based on the conveyor production of satellites. This requires new approaches to production, as well as procurement, contractual work, monitoring of deadlines and quality. The deployment of serial production of waveguides in JSC RESHETNEV is one of the stages in solving the strategic task of the transition of the industry to a new industrial model.
Cooperation with long-time partners from Reshetnyov, one of the main customers of our equipment, in the production of waveguides is of particular importance in the context of the transition of the industry to technological sovereignty. In turn, our holding continues to work in this area. The RKS has developed a technology of multimicron integrated waveguides, which allows creating modern noise-proof high-speed information transmission lines - this reduces the weight and size parameters of the devices and the number of connections inside them, noted Deputy General Designer of the RKS Alexander Kondrashov.

The strategic task of the transition of the rocket and space industry to conveyor production of spacecraft is based on modular satellite construction with unification and standardization, optimization of supply chains of production and effective input control of components. It is planned to reduce overhead costs and production costs by 40%, reduce the price of finished products by up to 28%, increase the production rate by up to four times by reducing the production cycle from the current four to eight years to two years, and reduce the risks of disruption in the production of satellites to 25%.
