Education

He graduated from Moscow State University of Railways with a degree in Organization of Transportation and Management in Railway Transport, as well as the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation with a degree in State Administration of Railway Transport.

Career

2024: Appointment as CEO of the First Freight Company

In September 2024, Oleg Romanov was appointed new CEO of the First Freight Company (PGK; one of the largest railway operators in Russia). In this post, he replaced Ruslan Babaev, who headed the PGK since November 2023.

Before heading the First Freight Company, Romanov held senior positions at Russian Railways. At the same time, by August 2024, there is no detailed information about his biography about the new head of the PGK in open sources.

According to RBC, the former vice-president of Russian Railways Anatoly Krasnoshchek may become the chairman of the board of directors of PGK. The interlocutors of the publication claim that Romanov was his assistant in Russian Railways.[1]
