The Severnaya Verf shipyard in St. Petersburg launched the Project 22350 frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov on September 27, 2024. This is the fourth ship of this series, designed to replenish the composition of the Russian Navy.

According to Interfax, the new frigate is a multi-purpose surface combat ship equipped with high-precision long-range missile weapons, including Zircon hypersonic missiles. The ship received serial number 924 and is named after Ivan Stepanovich Isakov - Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Soviet Union.

Project 22350 frigates are designed to perform a wide range of tasks. They are capable of hitting surface ships, convoys and landing squads of the enemy, conducting the search and destruction of submarines and ground targets, as well as providing air defense, anti-submarine and missile defense.

The ship's armament includes a 130 mm A-192 artillery mount, Redoubt anti-aircraft missile system, Zircon hypersonic missiles and Caliber cruise missiles. To combat underwater targets, the frigate is equipped with the Package-NK complex. The Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter is also based on board.

The laying of Admiral Isakov took place in November 2013. Currently (September 2024), the construction of four more frigates of this project continues at Severnaya Verf: Admiral Amelko, Admiral Chichagov, Admiral Yumashev and Admiral Spiridonov.

As of September 2024, the Russian Navy already has three Project 22350 ships: Admiral Gorshkov, Admiral Kasatonov and Admiral Golovko. The commissioning of Admiral Isakov will significantly strengthen the combat capabilities of the Russian fleet.

The shipyard specializes in the construction of surface warships and commercial vessels for various purposes, making a significant contribution to the development of the domestic military and civilian[1][2]
