2024: Social media launch

On September 27, 2024, it became known that a new scientific and technical social network Nayka, developed by Neuro-Master, a resident of the Sirius Innovation Scientific and Technological Center, began work in Russia. The platform is designed to bring together scientists and science lovers, providing them with opportunities for information exchange, cooperation and knowledge development.

The beta version of the application is already available on the RuStore platform (link) and the official website nayka.pro. The social network offers users registration as a scientist or reader, which determines their capabilities in the system.

Nayka social network for scientists

Nayka includes several key sections: "Science" with a thematic rubricator, "Tips" with announcements of scientific events, "Journals" with publications approved by the Higher Attestation Commission of Russia, as well as a chat for users to communicate. Special attention is paid to quality control of published materials - all works are tested for compliance with scientific standards.

The scientific director of the Neuro-Master company, Ivan Shekov, noted that the idea of creating Nayka arose during a discussion with scientists from Sirius University. The goal of the project was to create a platform for preliminary publication of scientific articles and obtaining open reviews, which is useful for both authors and readers.

The developers plan to further improve the platform. In the next update, the search function is expected to appear, improve the design, optimize the work of chats and increase the speed of loading partitions. These changes will be made based on feedback from users from open beta testing.

During the first days of its operation, Nayka attracted the attention of the scientific community: several dozen scientists and scientific and technical organizations, as well as more than 100 readers, joined the platform. This indicates the demand for such a resource in the Russian scientific community.[1]
