2024: Astra Infrastructure Cloud Platform Introduction

Astra Group on October 2, 2024 announced the release of the Astra Infrastructure Cloud (AIC) cloud platform. This modular solution is designed to create and manage an IT infrastructure cloud of any complexity. The solution allows you to deploy a cloud computing environment on the customer's local resources, designed to work in the internal circuit of the company and provide cloud services to all your employees through the self-service portal.

According to the licensing policy, the AIC cloud platform is delivered as a software package in two editions: Base, Standard. Differences between them are manifested in some functions of planning and allocation of resources, fault tolerance and management of virtual machines. Both editions are already available to customers.

The AIC cloud platform includes a number of components integrated with each other and representing a single solution. The foundation of the cloud platform is protected OCAstra Linux with built-in MPS, which are an integral part of AIC. Other equally important components of AIC are the self-service and billing portal, the virtualization and virtual machine management subsystem.

AICs can be installed in a variety of modes, including hyperconverged and converged configurations or classic hardware storage connections, providing flexibility and scalability to your IT infrastructure based on business needs. The platform supports load balancing within clusters to ensure optimal utilization of server resources. In the event of a failure, virtual machines or individual disks move quickly and easily between hosts. The directory service subsystem allows you to manage users and access rights in the private cloud as conveniently as in the corporate network. The end-to-end monitoring subsystem will warn of failures and emergencies, and the built-in recovery boiler will ensure the guaranteed security and safety of system data. The process of launching a cloud platform is automated, which provides a minimum threshold for entering product development.

The AIC cloud platform is ready to deploy IaaS-resources. In the coming months, it is planned to implement platform services PaaS based on components/products of its own production, in 2025 support will be implemented. SaaS The AIC cloud platform can be used by enterprises of any scale whose information system needs special security.

In addition to software systems, AIC will be delivered in the form of hardware and software systems (PAC) in pre-installed form on turnkey server equipment. The PAC AIC line includes three editions: AIC Starter (3-10 hosts), AIC PreCloud (11-30 hosts) and AIC Multicloud (over 31 hosts).
