Uber began using the unmanned technologies of Arkady Volozh

Customers: Uber

San Francisco; Transport

Project date: 2024/10

On October 3, 2024, Uber Technologies and Avride announced a multi-year strategic partnership to introduce delivery robots and autonomous vehicles. New services will be available in various American cities. The financial terms of the agreement are not disclosed as of that date.

As part of the cooperation, Uber begins to use unmanned technologies of Avride - the structure of the Nebius Group, which is headed by the founder of Yandex Arkady Volozh. In particular, Avride rovers will begin delivering orders for the Uber Eats ready-to-eat delivery service and products in Austin, Dallas and Jersey City. In addition, Uber robotic taxis will appear in Dallas, which ordinary passengers will be able to use.

Uber started using Avride's self-driving technology

New features will be available in mobile applications. When a user requests a grocery delivery or ride via Uber Eats or Uber, they may be given the option to complete the order using an Avride delivery robot or autonomous vehicle. It is noted that Avride provides a comprehensive set of robotic solutions, as it develops both self-driving cars for public roads and rovers capable of moving on sidewalks. Various services can be deployed on the basis of such automated delivery workers.

We are excited to partner with Uber to scale our operations. We are working to further improve the delivery experience for both consumers and sellers. The plans include expanding the fleet of Avride robots operating at Uber Eats to hundreds in 2025, followed by the launch of our robotic taxi service, says Dmitry Polishchuk, CEO of Avride.[1]
