2024: Introduction of Galileosky Terminals

At the wood processing plant, "Krone to Vologda Oblast the company" "installed GLONASS 35 Galileosky terminals for effective forest counting. As a result satellite , monitoring terminals saved plant employees from manual log counting. The company Galileosky announced this on October 7, 2024.

A light barrier is installed on one line of the plant, which with an accuracy of 1 cm determines the diameter of the passing log. Previously, this information was seen only by the operator at his workplace, and the volume of processed forest was considered manually. Plant management needed to obtain data on the number of logs processed per shift in order to estimate the time to fulfill orders.

Therefore, GLONASS 35 engineers connected the Galileosky terminal to the line, which collects, processes and transmits information about the diameter and number of logs to the plant's personal account online. The diameter is determined in seconds, on average, in 10 days the processing takes place from 5,000 logs, since the shifts work differently and the volume depends on the order. The system has become an innovation in the field of timber production, as it provides accurate figures for monitoring and recording data in real time.

The project significantly reduced the cost of counting sawn wood and managing data. The woodworker was able to calculate the cost of sawing logs more efficiently and accurately, resulting in improved production margins. Moreover, it was possible to save employees time on log control, accounting and data transfer. By automating processes, employee hours are used more efficiently. And the management controls the work of the plant from anywhere in the world where there is Internet.

After the introduction and verification of the system, manual counting of the processed log is not needed at all, logs are considered in automatic mode. The project successfully coped with the set tasks, providing the client with the ability to monitor data in real time, accurate figures of the diameter of logs and the volume of forest brought in. This enables the plant to make informed decisions about order fulfillment and process optimization. The average savings due to process automation amounted to more than 400,000 rubles per year with one-time costs of 69,000 rubles,
