2024: Allocation of ₽2,2 billion for reconstruction
The government commission in October 2024 decided to allocate ₽2,2 billion for the reconstruction of the Republican Center for Pulmonological Assistance in the village of Verkhny Fiagdon in North Ossetia. Funding for the project is planned for 2026-2027. The allocated funds will be used to modernize the center's infrastructure, which will improve the effectiveness of medical care and continue the successful fight against respiratory diseases in the region.
According TASS to the press service of the head of the republic, Sergei Menyailo, initially the reconstruction of the center was planned for 2025-2027. In 2023, a budget application was sent to the ministry health care Russia in order to include the object in the plan for 2024-2025. However, at a meeting of the government commission on September 12, 2023, it was decided to finance the project at a later date.
Representatives of the press service note that the building of the center is in disrepair, and there is an urgent need to postpone the reconstruction to an earlier period, starting from 2025.
The Center for Pulmonological Care is a key medical and diagnostic institution of republican significance, providing specialized medical care to the population of North Ossetia. It is located in the highlands of the republic and housed in an adapted building built in 1961, with a 1989 extension.
Despite the difficult situation with the state of the building of the center, positive trends in the fight against tuberculosis are observed in the region. According to the Government of North Ossetia, in 2023, a historical minimum was recorded in the republic on the main indicators characterizing the epidemiological situation for this disease. As a result, North Ossetia left the list of territories with a high incidence of tuberculosis.[1]
