On October 10, 2024, the Ural Automobile Plant presented the Ural C230E5 hybrid truck. This machine allows the installation of various attachments and special equipment: in particular, it can perform the functions of a mobile repair shop or a city garbage truck.

Ural S230Ye5 is a serial electric-gas hybrid with a curb weight of 16,470 kg and a gross weight of 20,500 kg. The truck is based on a modular electrical platform developed by Ural specialists. The car is equipped with a turbocharged 4-cylinder internal combustion gas engine, which has a power of 150 horsepower. In addition, an asynchronous traction motor with a power of 170 kW is installed. The power is provided by four lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4) with a capacity of 200 A·ch. There is a cryoback for liquefied natural gas for 150 liters.

The range of the hybrid truck on batteries is 100 km, and with charging from the generator, the car can travel up to 500 km. The maximum speed is 90 km/h. The car has a 4 × 2 wheel arrangement; a two-seater cabin is installed, located above the engine. The manufacturer provides a warranty for a period of two years or 100 thousand km of mileage. The service interval is 15 thousand km.

It is noted that the Ural S230Ye5 chassis-based garbage truck is designed for mechanized loading, compaction, transportation and unloading of solid household waste. The body capacity is 19 cubic meters, the garbage compaction factor is 2.5-7 (depending on the volume mass of waste). The carrying capacity of the garbage truck is 4030 kg. The car in electric traction mode allows you to carry out the process of garbage collection in the urban environment without creating noise. Thanks to this, work can be carried out, including at night and early in the morning^[1]
