2024: Product Announcement

In mid-October 2024, the South Korean company Hanwha Aerospace introduced an unmanned multi-launch launcher designed for amphibious operations. The novelty was called Unmanned Amphibious Multi-Rocket Launcher.

According to the developers, the unmanned amphibious launcher will provide targeted fire support with minimal personnel costs. This will allow the Navy to deploy artillery in previously inaccessible areas, primarily during distributed operations, that is, when controlled at the level of the entire fleet in a wider geographical area compared to the norms of warfare focused on strike groups.

The system weighing about 17 tons can be placed on landing ships and transport ships. Its advanced stabilization system compensates for the ship's movement, providing accurate guidance even in turbulent waters. The unmanned launch system improves crew survival, especially in high-risk areas.

The system is said to be compatible with existing Chunmoo multiple launch rocket system containers, allowing a range of rockets and rockets to be deployed. Development of the launcher is expected to continue through 2026, including the integration of electronic launch technology to increase the range and expand the range of ammunition to be deployed. It is planned that the system will be fully operational by 2033.
