2024: Transfer of 1,400 jobs to RuPost

The IT team of the Ural Civil Aviation Plant transferred 1,400 jobs from MS Exchange to RuPost. Astra Group announced this on October 10, 2024.

Thanks to the migration, the company managed to provide employees with trouble-free e-mail for business, as well as solve two important tasks: to comply with the key requirements for information security and to lay the opportunity for further scaling in the system.

This is the first stage of a large-scale project to replace the foreign MS Exchange solution, the result of which will be support for 8,000 UZGA mailboxes by the domestic RuPost system. The implementation of the initiative will enable the enterprise to seamlessly replace the corporate mail service from Microsoft by building a fully functional fault-tolerant solution.

It is important to note that the plant migrates to RuPost on its own, and the process is as simplified as possible for users. The expert team from the Information Technology Directorate of UZGA JSC, responsible for the implementation of the project, carefully worked out each stage in order to ensure uninterrupted operation of the system and maintain the usual workflow.

At the stage of choosing an alternative, UZGA experts considered, in addition to RuPost, other Russian systems of the new generation, assessing the technological features, maturity of the product, and the convenience of its use. Experts compared the software according to such criteria as reliability, ease of transition and ease of administration. RuPost was chosen due to its fast seamless migration mechanisms, proven in practice, high level of security and fault tolerance, as well as the ability to install on-premium.

The implementation phase was preceded by piloting carried out by the customer himself. During the tests, users made sure that RuPost works stably, the functionality they need is available in full, and security is ensured at the proper level. Then the UZGA management decided to integrate the postal service into the circuit of its digital system and put it into operation. As a result, a three-node failover cluster was built on the basis of domestic software and mailboxes with large archives were migrated.

USGA's strategic plans include scaling up the implementation of RuPost, deploying the Astra Linux operating system, the ALD Pro directory service and other Astra Group ecosystem products in its IT infrastructure.

It's nice to realize that now the creators of Russian aircraft are using RuPost, "said Mikhail Gellerman, CEO of RuPost. - Mail remains a critical communication artery of the organization, a center for documenting agreements. Until recently, Russian companies used Exchange as corporate mail and managed to get used to the interface and functionality of this solution. We managed to create a system that is easy and easy to migrate to, administer and can support millions of mailboxes.
