2024: Introduction of software for modeling physical processes in cryogenic equipment
Scientists at MPEI have developed software (software) for modeling physical processes in cryogenic equipment. The university announced this on October 18, 2024.
A proper description of high-intensity heat and mass transfer processes in two-phase systems is critical when creating the latest heat exchangers for micro- and nanoelectronics, where evaporation is required as one of the most effective ways to remove heat.
Intense evaporation from the interfacial surface is a process in which the liquid transitions to a gaseous state. At the same time, liquid droplets may form in the formed steam under certain conditions. The main purpose of the design analysis of this process is to determine the rate of evaporation and to assess the possibility of droplet formation in the steam volume.
The developed software allows you to determine from the given values of pressure and temperature of steam far from the surface on which evaporation occurs, and the temperature of this surface the intensity of evaporation and the need to take into account the volume condensation of the formed steam. At the same time, the calculation method, unlike traditional methods of continuous medium mechanics, has no restrictions on the degree of intensity of the evaporation process.
The software that our scientists have been working on is an important development for various fields of science and technology. For example, its application can significantly simplify the development of complex cooling systems for micro- and nanoelectronics. The proposed software can significantly reduce the total cost of developing such cooling systems, - said Nikolai Rogalev, rector of MPEI, about the new development. |
The developed software package includes two modules. The first module allows calculations for various substances under specified parameters and conditions. The second module allows you to visualize and process changes in the necessary parameters.
The software was developed, tested and registered under the guidance of Arseniy, Associate Professor of the Department of Low Temperatures of the National Research University "MPEI Yastrebova."
