2024: Product Announcement

In mid-October 2024, Adison Technology introduced a vein imaging device that allows you to accurately conduct intravenous injections, install peripheral venous catheters and take blood for tests almost painlessly.

The portable device, developed by a Taiwanese medical company, uses patented optical technology that allows you to view veins and arteries and displays an accurate 3D map of the vessels of the hand. This allows medical professionals to find exactly the blood vessel they need, regardless of the depth of occurrence, and carry out the necessary procedures.

Portable device released that instantly brings 3D vein map to screen

The portable device is equipped with a movable screen that allows you to view the venous network. The health care provider can not only assess the location of the vein, but also make sure that the needle is inserted correctly. The device is packaged in a carrier bag the size of a suitcase and can be used in emergency situations. The screen can be rotated depending on the position of the health worker and patient, for example, when helping a person who is lying on the ground.

In addition, the device has proven its effectiveness when used in infants aged six months or older, in whom the insertion of needles into a vein is difficult due to the thick layer of subcutaneous fat. Tests have shown that when using the device, the frequency of successful intravenous injections without reintroducing the needle increased by 30%. It has been shown that the device can be used to examine patients of any race and even in persons with scarring from burns.

The device won the RedDot Design Award, one of the largest product design competitions in the world. The device was presented at the Taiwan Innotech Expo in Taipei, where journalists and potential customers could familiarize themselves with it.[1]
