2024: Presentation of the SMath Studio complex

Scientists of NRU "MPEI" together with LLC "SMat" have created a domestic certified software complex (PC) SMath Studio for thermal engineering calculations. The PC works with thermophysical values, with numerical and symbolic mathematics, builds graphs, creates animation, performs optimization and much more. The university announced this on October 23, 2024.

The use of the complex accelerates calculations by an order of magnitude, reduces the risk of errors in them and improves the "readability" of calculations and their openness for further expansion. Calculations are carried out using units of measurement in Russian and international spelling.

The creation of a domestic software complex for thermal engineering calculations is an important step towards technological independence to import substitution and in. power industries The use of the complex helps to reduce the risk of errors, simplifies engineering design processes and allows more flexible adaptation of calculations to changes in requirements. This opens up new opportunities for specialists working in the field of heat and power engineering, improves the quality of engineering solutions and makes a significant contribution to the development of domestic technologies, contributing to the formation of a sustainable and high-tech power of the future, - said the rector of MPEI National Research University about the new software complex. After installing the SMath Studio program on the computer, the WaterSteamPro add-on (plugin) is connected to it, which allows you to work with the thermophysical properties of thermal energy working bodies (water and water vapor, air and flue gases) used in both conventional and steam-gas power units of thermal power plants.

The domestic software complex was developed under the guidance of Valery Ochkova., Professor of the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Heat Engineering.
