Education

Maxim Maksimov in 2008 graduated from the Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov with a degree in Medical Medicine.

Career

2009-2016

From 2009 to 2015, he worked in the city polyclinic No. 66 of Moscow, having gone from a district therapist to the chief physician. Since 2016, he has worked in senior positions in other medical institutions in Moscow.

2018-2023

In 2018, he began working in the Directorate for the Coordination of the Activities of Medical Organizations of the Moscow Department of Health. In December 2018, he was appointed Minister of Health of the Tver Region. He left this position in 2020 of his own free will and returned to the Moscow region, where he worked as deputy chief physician for outpatient work of the Mytishchi City Clinical Hospital, and in 2023 he took the post of Deputy Minister of Health of the region.

2024: Appointment as Head of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region

At the end of October 2024, it became known about the appointment of Maxim Maksimov as the new head of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region. In this position, he replaced Alexei Sapanyuk.

Before heading the Moscow Region Ministry of Health, Maksimov is working in this department as the first deputy minister.

According to the publication "Medical Bulletin," on October 29, 2024, Sapanyuk had his last working day, he said goodbye to the team. The reasons for the resignation are not specified.

Sapanyuk's predecessor, former Minister of Health of the Moscow Region Svetlana Strigunkova, is in jail by the end of October 2024. She is charged with taking a bribe in the amount of 123 million rubles.[1]
