MMK removed Tableau data analysis system and switched to Russian software

Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works completed the first stage of migration from the American data visualization system Tableau to the FineBI platform, transferring the Corporate Analytical Portal to a new one. software This became known on November 6, 2024.

The project is being implemented with the support of the system integrator GlowByte. During 2024, it is planned to transfer the Financial Analytics and Legal Analysis systems of MMK-Pravo to a new platform.

Head of the Center for Competence of Analytical Systems of MMK Sergey Kulagin noted that migration to alternative solutions would require twice as many resources. FineBI was chosen due to the similarity of the interface with Tableau, which made it possible to minimize the cost of personnel training.

The plant's specialists independently transferred 80% of the reporting, which contributed to an increase in the team's expertise and budget optimization. Enterprise management selected the new platform according to a number of criteria, including report builder functionality, self-service support, and usage security.

FineBI's developer, FanRuan, is actively collaborating with the metallurgical plant, collecting feedback to improve functionality. Representatives of the company visited MMK to demonstrate information panels and exchange experience in the field of visualization of data in the metallurgical industry.
