2024:6 small spacecraft entering orbit
On November 5, at 02:18 from the Vostochny cosmodrome, along with the Ionosphere-M heliogeophysical spacecraft No. 1 and No. 2 at the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with the Fregat RB, 6 small spacecraft (MKA) of the CubeSat format were launched into the target orbit of Russian universities under the UniverSat program, the UniverSat-2024 cluster, including MKA MTUSI 1.
MKA "MTUSI 1" is a satellite of the CubeSat 6UXL format, the development of scientists and students of an industry university in the system of universities subordinate to the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia.
Devices such as a galactic cosmic ray detector are installed on board the MTUSI 1 MKA (development for registration and prediction of hazardous heliogeophysical phenomena in near-Earth space), air traffic monitoring equipment to study the possibility of stable reception and collection of information from automatic dependent monitoring and broadcasting systems using an SDR receiver and on-board equipment of emergency communication services to study the availability of radio communication service in the VHF band for receiving/transmitting emergency messages.
The MKA was launched by the Roscosmos State Corporation within the framework of the UniverSat-2024 program together with other MKAs developed by Russian universities to solve applied problems in the interests of the thematic customer - Roshydromet. The MKA will provide targeted information that will complement the data received by the hydrometeorological and heliogeophysical spacecraft of the Roscosmos State Corporation: Meteor-M, Electro-L, Arktika-M, Ionosphere-M No. 1 and No. 2.
Separation systems, a complex of ground experimental testing, work on the adaptation of the MKA and the integration of the UniverSat-2024 cluster with the Fregat RB at the Vostochny cosmodrome were carried out by the industrial partner of Orbital Systems LLC. The target equipment installed on board the MTUSI 1 MKA, including those developed by the IPG FSBI and the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
