2024: Launch of cloud platform for mobile autotests
AvitoTech continues to develop its own technology products and has launched a cloud platform for mobile autotests. This is a cloud-based version of the Emcee test runner, which the company unveiled in November 2023. The developer announced this on November 15, 2024. The cloud version of Emcee allows companies and independent developers to reduce application testing time on iOS and Android tenfold without investing in creating and supporting their own infrastructure. This product is available to all Emcee users.
Charging in the cloud version of Emcee is per minute. The platform itself distributes power in such a way that, regardless of the current service load and the complexity of the tests, it will meet half an hour. The time of preparation for launch is not taken into account, so the user can predict the costs in advance. Minute Emcee costs 3 rubles 16 kopecks (190 rubles per hour) - this is significantly lower than prices for working with foreign counterparts such as BrowserStack, Google Firebase and GitHub Actions. Payment - online, by bank card in your personal account or direct agreement.
You can evaluate all the advantages of the platform after registering on the site. Detailed documentation is available at.
AvitoTech introduced its own Emcee platform for multiple acceleration of tests in mobile development in November 2023. The solution is integrated with CI/CD tools and allows you to organize parallel testing on hundreds of virtual devices on iOS and Android. In addition to the possibility of conducting native autotests, Emcee also has the functionality of running tests written on the Appium framework, as well as tools for combining and analyzing results.
Emcee was fully developed by the AvitoTech team to optimize their own processes, because the solutions on the market did not allow scaling the autotesting process. The service was originally aimed at high loads, user convenience and good scalability. It took about 9 months to develop Emcee. The project team plans to further expand the platform functionality and reach the limits of only running tests. For example, it will be possible to try building or compiling mobile applications, "said Alexey Shpirko, head of development at the Mobile Avito cluster. |
At first, the Emcee platform was deployed at the companies' own facilities, and the cloud service worked in test mode. During the year of operation, dozens of Russian and international companies used the product.
