In the Tver region opened a new water park "Zavidovo Aqua & Spa"
On November 14, 2025, the technical opening of the Zavidovo Aqua & SPA water park took place at the Zavidovo resort in the Tver region. A full launch of the facility is scheduled for December 1, 2025. Read more here.
Opening of the second stage of the resort
In November 2025, the second stage of the all-season resort was opened in the village of Zavidovo, Tver Region. The new facilities include a multifunctional center, which includes one of the largest water parks in Europe, a congress hall, a ski slope, family infrastructure and a hotel complex.
According to TASS with reference to the press service of the regional government, the total investment in the construction of the second stage amounted to 41.8 billion rubles, of which 29.3 billion rubles were provided by the state development corporation "ВЭБ.РФ." The interim governor of the Tver region, Vitaly Korolev, said that the implementation of this project was made possible thanks to the national initiative "Tourism and Hospitality" and the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The general director of the Vasta group, Sergei Bachin, noted that the resort has created a new point of attraction for residents of the Tver and neighboring regions, including Moscow. He described the project as the largest tourist complex in the last 12 years.
Sergey Sukhanov, General Director of Туризм.рф Corporation, stressed at the opening ceremony that the implementation of the project was made possible thanks to measures of support from the Russian government and the coordinated work of federal authorities.
According to TASS, the water park is part of the Zavidovo Park complex with a total area of 55 thousand square meters. m. The complex also houses a congress center for 1,000 seats, entertainment facilities for families with children, restaurants and shops. It is expected that the work of hotels will increase the tourist flow to 1 million people by 2026. Guests of the water park can take advantage of 17 water attractions and slides, and for children there are two play areas with a separate pool.[1]
2024: Construction begins
In November 2024, the new budget of the project of the year-round family recreation center "Zavidovo" became known, which is being implemented in the Konakovsky district of the Tver region. The total investment in the project increased by 28.2% and amounted to ₽41,8 billion.
According to Interfax, one of the largest indoor water entertainment centers in Europe with an area of 54 thousand square meters will appear on the territory of the special economic zone "Zavidovo." The project is being implemented by Vasta Discovery as part of a program for the development of domestic tourism.
The Governor of the Tver Region Igor Rudenya notes that the project will create more than 900 new jobs for residents of the region. The commissioning of the first tourist infrastructure is scheduled for 2025, which will significantly strengthen the tourism potential of the region.
The multifunctional complex will unite the largest water park in the European part of Russia, a ski slope, a chain of restaurants and cafes, hotel complexes and a congress center. The construction of three hotel complexes will begin in the near future, which will create a comfortable infrastructure for accommodating tourists.
According to forecasts of the regional government, the tourist flow to the resort by 2025 will reach 1 million people, and by 2028 it will increase to 2 million vacationers. Initially, the project was estimated at ₽32,6 billion, but the costs were adjusted taking into account the expansion of infrastructure and the scale of construction.
The decision to develop the tourism industry in the Konakovsky district was made at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Land Relations. The project is intended to create a modern year-round center of attraction in the region for family recreation and the development of domestic tourism.
The comprehensive development of the territory involves the creation of a full-fledged entertainment and business infrastructure, including catering, trade and service facilities. Special attention is paid to the transport accessibility of the resort and creating a comfortable environment for all categories of visitors.[2]
