2024: Product Announcement
The Magnit retail chain has created its own Magnit Devices controllers for automated management of retail equipment as part of the Smart Store project. The development of devices was carried out on the basis of the IT & Maintenance Lab in Krasnodar in 2024. This became known on November 28, 2024.
According to the press service of the Magnit company, the new controllers are being tested in existing retail outlets and demonstrate stable operation. The devices are integrated into the maintenance and repair system (TED), which allows you to remotely monitor the operation of lighting, climatic installations and refrigeration equipment.
The company has established an eight-month period of test operation of the equipment, after which a decision will be made to expand the project. Pilot implementation of controllers is carried out in stores of the "at home" format in Krasnodar with subsequent expansion to discounters B1 and retail outlets Dixy"."
Igor Vetelkin, head of the department for the development of corporate geoservices and IS support for the Magnit retail network, noted that the use of its own devices will optimize costs and speed up the integration of new stores into the Smart Store system.
The introduction of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in the retail network began in 2010 with the equipping of large facilities with SCADA systems. The monitoring center in Krasnodar carries out round-the-clock control of equipment operation parameters in all stores of the network, which ensures timely troubleshooting and their prompt elimination.
The developed controllers take into account the specifics of small format stores and allow you to automatically record deviations in the operation of the equipment, adjust the modes of its operation and form requests for maintenance. The system helps extend the shelf life of products and create comfortable conditions for customers.[1]
