2024: Compatibility with Aladdin 2FA

Solar Group and Aladdin R.D. have completed a project to implement technological compatibility of the Solar SafeInspect PAM system, the Solar SafeConnect web portal with the Aladdin 2FA two-factor authentication software. Solar announced this on November 27, 2024. Integration allows you to organize secure access for information security specialists and privileged users to the internal resources of companies.

Access to target servers is provided by OTP software tokens (their role is played by mobile authentication applications). The Aladdin 2FA application generates one-time codes on a mobile device, which enhances the authentication of privileged users when accessing the infrastructure. Authentication servers (JAS) support hardware and software authenticators, including the implementation of the RADIUS server - JaCarta RADIUS Server (JRS).

The use of the second authentication factor is an important step in connecting administrators or contractors to the company's IT infrastructure. The integration of Solar SafeInspect and Solar SafeConnect with Aladdin JAS and 2FA solutions enables organizations to enhance user authentication when connecting to target servers. This is crucial for companies practicing a remote or hybrid work format: the access of privileged users to the infrastructure should be controlled as strictly as possible, - said Nikita Igonkin, head of the department of technical expertise and quality control of products of the Solar Group of Companies.

Two-factor authentication in companies is most often used in large corporate networks, which are most often targeted by. cyber attacks According to to data the Solar4Rays Cyber Threats Research Center, in 2024, in 40% of cases hacker , groups use compromised credentials for primary penetration into the IT infrastructure of companies and organizations.

Successful attacks on information systems primarily arise from incorrectly designed or implemented user authentication, as well as from the use of passwords instead of enhanced two-factor authentication. The second reason is remote access, when employees use simple authentication when connecting remotely, not complying with security requirements in organizations where a high level of trust is required. The use of multifactor authentication is extremely important, because in addition to working accounts, company employees can be registered in various information systems. The use of enhanced authentication dramatically reduces the level of hacking of information systems.

Multi-factor authentication solutions are important security components of your IT infrastructure. The compatibility of Aladdin JAS and 2FA solutions with PAM Solar SafeInspect and SSO SafeConnect demonstrated both a high degree of reliability of solutions from each company and a high openness to mutual integration. The implementation of these solutions will strengthen the security of customers' IT infrastructure by providing users with enhanced authentication using various types of keys, as well as confidence in the reliability of the technologies used, "said Dmitry Shuralev, leading specialist in working with technological partners of Aladdin R.D.

Two-factor authentication, along with SSO (Single Sign-On) technologies and in combination with IdM solutions, for example, Solar inRights, allows you to form a secure login to various services using a single set of credentials. The collaboration of the PAM and IDM systems platforms controls privileged users' access to sensitive information, critical business processes, and information systems.
