2024: Product Announcement

In early December 2024, Helsing, a company specializing in AI projects for defense enterprises, introduced the HX-2 Karma combat drone, similar in design to the Russian Lancet.

HX-2 Karma is a combat drone with X-shaped blades and a range of up to 100 km. According to the developer, advanced AI provides high immunity to interference even in a highly competitive electromagnetic spectrum. The drone is capable of carrying warheads weighing up to 4.5 kg at a maximum speed of 250 km/h to targets at a distance of 100 km. If the HX-2 is not completely destroyed at the end of the mission, it is guaranteed that the encrypted software cannot be used by the other party.

According to the developers, HX-2 can be produced on a huge scale and is much cheaper than conventional unmanned aerial vehicles. At the same time, the performance of hardware components is increased to the required level using AI. Helsing is already ramping up production capacity in Europe to produce HX-2, including by partnering with other manufacturers who are willing to provide units and components according to Helsing's specifications and quality criteria.

The company sees HX-2 Karma as a powerful addition to artillery systems, capable of successfully hitting enemy wheeled and tracked equipment, command posts and positional systems at a distance. The HX-2 software is based on the Altra intelligence and attack software package developed by the Helsing design bureau. Altra manages sensors, evaluates results and provides action recommendations for the operator. The operator can decide for himself on the actions of the HX-2 or can allow the automatic execution of certain aspects of the operation. However, it is the operator who confirms the goal and initiates the final breakthrough, ensuring that the person retains control over decision-making.[1]
