2024: Personal Account Transfer to Tarantool
Rostelecom has transferred the subscribers' personal account to an updated architecture. The service has increased the speed and stability of work under increasing loads, as well as opportunities for the implementation of business solutions. The company announced this on December 6, 2024.
The Russian development of the VK Tech team - the Tarantool service - was chosen by Rostelecom to solve the problems of migrating the user's personal account from a monolithic architecture to a microservice one, as well as storing sessions and authorizing users. The transfer was carried out in record short time - two nights.
A trusted solution was used to update the subscriber's personal account. Migration to Russian technology was carried out to gain independence from imported solutions that were no longer supported by vendors. As a result, the transition to the updated personal account was seamless for millions of Rostelecom user accounts.
