2024: SOC Self-Assessment Maturity Portal Launch
On December 10, 2024, Solar Group announced the launch of the SOC self-assessment portal (center for monitoring and responding to cyber attacks). With its help, large businesses and other companies that have their own SOC will be able to quickly identify growth points and the main directions of development of the information security monitoring center . The portal is based on a proprietary assessment methodology from Solar experts based on many years of experience in introducing and modernizing SOC for the largest Russian companies and government agencies.
A number of large Russian companies have their own SOC, but work processes do not always allow you to allocate time to assess the state of the monitoring center, eliminate operational problems and develop a development strategy. To solve these problems, Solar launched a service to assess the maturity of SOC in July 2024, within which the company's specialists carefully analyze the information security monitoring center, highlight growth points and fully reveal its potential for one to two months.
The self-assessment portal of maturity, in turn, allows you to obtain basic information about the current state of SOC and brief recommendations for its improvement with the help of filling out the questionnaire in a short time. As part of the questionnaire, depending on the availability of the necessary information, it will be possible to answer more than 300 questions that will make it possible to draw up a full-fledged picture of the center. All questions are built according to the individual Solar methodology, based on the best world forums, taking into account the expert practice of the company.
For self-assessment on the portal, business is invited to fill out questionnaires in three areas:
- Functions - assessment of information security monitoring processes, response quality and investigation of information security incidents, system support of SOC hardware, external communications and development of SOC itself.
- Technologies - assessment of the state and practical application of technical means for detecting, responding to and predicting information security incidents.
- Personnel - assessment of the personnel required for the efficient and well-coordinated work of the center.
After answering the necessary questions, the portal will automatically generate a brief report and recommendations for improving SOC. If necessary, the selected parameters can be changed three times, forming an updated and more up-to-date report. The portal after payment will be available for six months.
