2024: Product Announcement
The newest Russian helmet augmented reality with for fighter crews SU-57 is first shown in the announcement of the documentary "The Lords of the Sky" on December 11, 2024. The device allows controlling the means of destruction in flight by turning the pilot's head.
According to CNews, the helmet is equipped with a target designation and indication system that displays all the necessary data on the combat situation. Targeting symbols are projected onto the protective fence for the use of various types of aircraft weapons.
In 2021, PJSC United Aircraft Corporation began testing the helmet system for pilots of fifth-generation multi-purpose fighters Su-57. The system allows pilots to see the cockpit space at night and in difficult weather conditions, as well as when performing difficult maneuvers.
Augmented reality technology includes digital information superimposed on the real world in the pilot's field of view. Military AR helmets differ from civilian counterparts in the ability to transfer the actions of pilots to the command center of the Aerospace Forces Russia for real-time adjustment.
The device is also equipped with sensors that take readings about the pilot's condition, including pressure and pulse. Military analytics systems can be connected to the helmet to collect and evaluate data on hostilities.
The demonstration of the helmet is timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the development bureaus of P.O. Sukhoy and Mikoyan, which are part of the United Aircraft Corporation of the Rostec state corporation. The premiere of the film "Lords of the Sky" will take place on December 15, 2024 on Channel One.
The new system allows pilots to perform combat missions more efficiently thanks to improved situational awareness and the ability to "see through" their own aircraft using television and thermal imaging sensors.[1]
