History

2024: Access to the Baltic Sea

The small rocket ship Stavropol of project 21631 Buyan-M, built at the Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant, entered the Baltic Sea on December 24, 2024 to undergo factory sea trials.

According to Portnews, Stavropol is the twelfth and last ship of this series, laid down in July 2018 and launched in June 2024.

During the tests, representatives of the factory delivery team, together with the crew, will check all the ship's systems, including maneuverable and high-speed characteristics, the operation of units, navigation and radio equipment. Complex shooting at sea and air targets is also planned.

The small missile ship Stavropol is equipped with modern control systems, radio technical weapons, radio communications, navigation, electronic warfare and countermeasures, as well as anti-sabotage weapons and portable anti-aircraft missile systems.

Zelenodolsk plant named after A.M. Gorky, part of the Shipbuilding Corporation JSC, Ak Bars has been building ships of project 21631 NAVY Russia since 2010. These river-sea class multipurpose ships are designed to protect the economic zone states in inland sea basins.

According to the publication, after the completion of the tests, the ship will become part of the connection of small missile ships and boats of the Baltic Naval Base. The Baltic Fleet already includes four ships of this project: Zeleny Dol, Serpukhov, Grad and Naro-Fominsk.

The small missile ship Stavropol is completing the project 21631 ship construction program, implemented as part of the modernization of the Russian navy and strengthening the defense capability of the country's maritime borders.[1]
