Project date: 2011/01

In Kaliningrad started installation of metering devices of the electric power in public non-residential premises. The initiative of carrying out this experiment belongs to the head of Kaliningrad Alexander Yaroshuk. For additional economy of electricity installation of energy saving lamps and motion sensors is also planned.

The necessity of such measures is caused by high accounts for lighting of public non-residential premises. After installation of counters residents will pay for this service proceeding from the actual consumption, i.e. it is much less. In the house where the first metering device was installed, accounts for lighting of public non-residential premises made 200 rub from each apartment.

As Oleg Gorbovtsov, the associate director on technical issues of Energosbyt in Kaliningrad told, practice shows that savings from implementation of metering devices make 30-60%. For setting the counter residents need to address to management company and to find the contractor for installation. After installation the device will be accepted by Energosbyt and put into operation.

Further reduction of energy consumption will be possible thanks to installation of energy saving lamps and motion sensors. Except that new lamps will consume many times less electricity, they will burn not day and night, and to join only when someone goes on a ladder.

City authorities expect to deliver counters in each house of Kaliningrad, the necessary number of devices already purchased at the expense of budgetary funds.
