2024: Sveza Timber Holding bought MMPOF packaging

According to Vedomosti, the holding includes the companies MMPOF Packaging and MMPOF Rotogravyur, specializing in the production of cardboard packaging, as well as the Nevskie Grani enterprise, which produces paper for cigarette filters.

Anatoly Frishman, CEO of Sveza-Les, noted the strategic importance of the acquisition to strengthen the company's position in the paper and cardboard market. In September 2024, the holding also acquired the Kama cardboard and paper mill in the Perm Territory for ₽47 billion.

Maxim Khudalov, chief strategist of the Vector Capital investment company, said that the EBITDA indicator of MMPOF Packaging in 2024 reached ₽1,7 billion with a debt of ₽3,4 billion, and MMPOF Rotogravyur - ₽1,4 billion with a debt of ₽1,3 billion.

According to the company, Sveza occupies 20% of the global birch plywood market. In the first three quarters of 2024, sales increased by 29%, mainly in East Asia (an increase of 74%), Russia (an increase of 10%) and the CIS countries (an increase of 34%).

Leading expert "Finam Management" Dmitry Baranov stressed that business diversification will allow the company to enter new markets and attract additional customers. Consolidation of purchases of raw materials can help reduce costs and optimize prices for finished products.

Sveza includes 9 production sites in various regions of Russia. The average annual output reaches 1.4 million cubic meters. m. The company's share in Russian plywood exports in 2024 amounted to 28%, an increase of 5 percentage points.[1]
