2025: Product Announcement
In early January 2025, Rictor introduced the Skyrider X1 flying electric quadcopter scooter, capable of moving both through the air and on the ground, costing $60,000.
According to Interested Engineering, the vehicle is equipped with four retractable supports with two powerful fans on each for flights. The manufacturer offers two modifications of the device with different flight times.
The basic version of the X1 SL with a 10.5 kVt·ch battery can stay in the air for up to 25 minutes. Modification X1 SX is equipped with a battery 21 kVt·ch, which provides flight for up to 40 minutes.
The flying scooter is designed to carry one person and cargo with a total weight of up to 100 kg. The maximum flight altitude is 200 meters, and the speed reaches 70 km per hour. The presence of wheels allows the device to be used as a conventional ground vehicle.
To ensure safety, the Skyrider X1 is equipped with an automatic parachute in case of electronic failure, autonomous take-off and landing systems, as well as automatic planning of the route in the air.
Experts note possible difficulties with the legalization of the vehicle, since the air legislation of most countries does not provide for the use of such devices by individuals in urban conditions.
Rictor continues to develop innovative technologies for integrating personal aircraft into everyday life. User safety is declared as a priority in the design of the device.
Thanks to built-in automation and security systems, the manufacturer expects to make flying scooter control available even to inexperienced users.
According to the developers, this type of transport can become a solution for movement in the conditions of cities of the future, providing mobility in both air and ground space.[1]
