On January 23, 2025, the first mobile agricultural complex based on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Russia was presented in the Kaluga Region. It is planned to use it, among other things, for accurate application of fertilizers.

The Governor of the Kaluga Region Vladislav Shapsha spoke about the project in his Telegram channel. The manufacturer of the complex is the Kozelsky Mechanical Plant. The system includes two agrodrons that can be used to carry out various agricultural work: these are, in particular, pollination of fields, delivery of fertilizers, treatment of crops with herbicides and insecticides.

It is argued that the complex is capable of performing agricultural tasks as accurately and efficiently as possible, reducing costs and increasing yields. In eight hours, the system allows you to pollinate farmland with an area of 386 hectares. According to him, in the region it is planned to develop a promising direction for the production, testing and use of unmanned systems in various sectors of the economy. In addition to performing work in agriculture, these are monitoring the environment, delivering goods and creating three-dimensional maps of the area. In addition, drones will be involved in the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. A study of regional measures to support the UAV industry is being prepared, including helping companies receive federal subsidies. At the end of February 2025, the production of new generation electric motors for drones will be launched in the Kaluga Region. Issues on the manufacture of other components for drones are being considered.[1]
