"Cloud" from IBM absolutely is near

IBM announced fast start of "Virtual Desktop for Smart Business" service ("the Virtual Desktop for Smart Business", its essence consists in ensuring access to everything on a business desktop of the user using tablets, netbooks, notebooks and phones. At the same time safety of service and reserves will be controlled on a centralized basis IT department of the company. Provides the middleware, including the software of export/import from Virtual Bridges subsidiary company for IBM service.

This service was available in the limited mode since November of last year to key clients within about six weeks. IBM sees its use in the field of health care, bank, retail trade, production and almost everywhere where many employees (for example, doctors or sellers) work as at offices, and far off.

In addition, Satyadas compared the offer of IBM to Amazon Web Services which usually services these clients, but (according to him) left on them care of security. Also, service works at DPC and other infrastructure facilities which use either Microsoft Windows, or Linux - the last can be a core of any data processing center of IBM.

Existence of support of Linux opens possibilities of virtualization for new clients. Virtualization of the desktop systems from VMWare or Citrix is more suitable for the Windows servers. IBM plans that the cost of service will be about $150 for one user a year: it is known that competitive price is $70 and more on the user in a month.

Virtual Bridges responsible for the interface for mobile devices, has now the appendix which works on iPad and iPhone from Apple. On the small iPhone screen it is difficult to place a desktop, but the version for iPad looks good. The application for devices under Android, according to Satyadas - "in the diagram".

With growth of number of devices, the prices will fall, and resellers will want to give many models to leasing. If IBM seriously treats this business, then almost for certain in the nearest future will start model similar to Amazon.
