2025: Product Announcement
At the end of January 2025, the Swiss company Sealsq introduced the world's first equipment capable of resisting both classical hacking methods and quantum computer attacks. The hardware platform is called QS7001.
It is noted that quantum computing will revolutionize many industries in the future. However, they also pose significant risks to existing encryption methods. Traditional cryptographic algorithms such as RSA and ECC (elliptical cryptography), which are the backbone of secure communications, become vulnerable to cyberquat attacks. The enormous computational power of quantum systems capable of solving complex mathematical problems much faster than classical computers threatens to make existing cryptography ineffective.
The Sealsq QS7001 platform solves the problem. Equipment built on open architecture RISC-V uses quantum-resistant Kyber and Dilithium algorithms recommended by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (USA NIST). This is claimed to provide robust protection against quantum hacks.
QS7001 represents a transformative leap in cybersecurity. As quantum computing capabilities evolve, the disadvantages of modern encryption techniques become increasingly apparent. QS7001 offers the tools necessary to protect data and devices from the impending quantum threat, "says Jean Pierre Enguent, CTO of Sealsq. |
The Swiss company adds that the rapid development of quantum technologies is transforming areas such as artificial intelligence and blockchain. At the same time, to protect against quantum attacks, qualitatively new equipment will be required.[1]
