2024: Introduction of a system for sorting parcels weighing up to 30 kg in the Novosibirsk division
Business Lines has introduced a system designed to sort parcels weighing up to 30 kg in a division of Novosibirsk. The company announced this on January 28, 2025. For testing, compact robots of domestic development were chosen. The devices can move at a speed of 2 m/s, which is 1.5 times faster than a person's walk. This solution is integrated into warehouse processes thanks to the open API and provides high-speed sorting of shipments.
As a result of testing, we found that robotization of parcel sorting allows us to increase process performance by about 1.5 times. Also, thanks to the technology, the labor intensity of operations is reduced and the cost of sorting work is reduced. The process will be faster and more efficient, and this is a noticeable advantage, thanks to which it will become much easier to cope with a large volume of parcels, - said the press service of the Business Lines Group of Companies. |
The group of companies added that during 2025 it is planned to scale the sorting system to other divisions of the carrier. Due to the great attention of market participants to the automation of warehouse processes, Business Lines also plans to test other solutions - in particular, a robotic manipulator, a robotic transporter and software products based on neural networks.
