2025: Sentence - 7.5 years in prison for embezzlement of 2.9 billion rubles
On January 31, 2025, the Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow issued a verdict against the former owner of the bank "Development" (Cherkessk) Ilya Gavrilov. He received seven and a half years in prison in the case of embezzlement of over 2.9 billion rubles from a credit institution .
As reported, in addition to Gavrilov, the head of the cash operations department of the Development Design Bureau Natalya Kovrizhkina, the bank's client Andrei Osipov, as well as other employees and clients of the organization - Yulia Bukharina, Snezhana Sergeyeva, Sergey Kochkin and Vladimir Kulishenko. According to the investigation, from July to October 2016, these persons, under the leadership of the actual beneficiary of the bank Gavrilov, committed theft of property totaling more than 2.9 billion rubles under the guise of concluding agreements for the assignment of claims (concessions) and interest loan agreements, as well as providing "technical loans" without actually issuing funds.
Depending on the role and degree of participation in the commission of crimes, the defendants were found guilty under Part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement of property entrusted to the perpetrator committed by a person using his official position organized by a group on an especially large scale) and part 5 of Art. 33, part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code RUSSIAN FEDERATION (aiding in the embezzlement of property, using the official position organized by the group, on an especially large scale). Gavrilov was given a maximum prison sentence. The remaining members of the criminal group received from two to three and a half years with serving a sentence in a general regime colony.
It is also noted that in February 2023, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, sentenced Gavrilov to seven years in prison in the case of embezzlement of 3.6 billion rubles from Novikombank[1]
