2025: Resignation against the background of complaints from residents of Novosibirsk about the non-working fare payment system
On January 31, 2025, it became known that Nikolai Shuklin, General Director of SberTroika LLC, announced his voluntary resignation. This decision was made against the background of numerous complaints from residents of Novosibirsk about malfunctions in the automated system of accounting and payment for travel in public transport.
From January 1, 2025, the replenished Troika card began to operate in public transport in the Novosibirsk region. The system operator is SberTroika. It was noted that the introduction of the card will provide a number of advantages for citizens. In particular, the card can be used for payment in Novosibirsk, as well as in a number of other regions of Russia while traveling around the country. This eliminates the need to deal with local tickets and payment systems.
However, the launch of the Troika card in Novosibirsk turned into failures. Residents faced lengthy work by validators, a partial lack of information about card users, the inability to obtain information about the number of remaining trips and other problems. As a result, on January 23, 2025, a meeting was held in the prosecutor's office of the Novosibirsk region with representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the region and SberTroika LLC on the operation of an automated system for accounting and payment for travel in public transport. The deputy prosecutor of the region announced warnings about the inadmissibility of violating the current legislation to the deputy minister and general director of SberTroika.
Soon after, Shuklin made the decision to resign "for health reasons." It is said that together with Shuklin, part of his team left their posts. Elena Kolesnikova, who previously served as Director General of SberTroika, will act as Director General of SberTroika.[1]
