2025: Product Announcement

In early February 2025, the United Engine Corporation Rostec introduced the PD-8 engine for the SJ-100 passenger aircraft. The engine was created using the latest domestic materials and advanced technologies.

According to the press service of Rostec, the twin-circuit turbofan engine PD-8 developed at the UEC-Saturn enterprise using 3D printing technologies and experience in creating a PD-14 engine. Computer simulation results are used to speed up certification.

First Deputy General Director of the State Corporation Rostec Vladimir Artyakov notes that the work on the project goes to the finish line. The necessary engine tests are carried out, and the power for mass production is deployed.

In the near future, the PD-8 will take off for the first time as part of a passenger SJ-100 to undergo the final stage of flight tests. The engine is being shown to the general public for the first time.

The NAIS exhibition also presents the PD-14 engine for the MS-21 medium-range aircraft and the TV7-117ST-01 for the IL-114-300 regional turboprop aircraft. Separately, the VK-1600V engine for mid-range helicopters with a takeoff weight of 5-8 tons is demonstrated.

The exhibition participants are discussing the creation of a pool of replacement engines, service maintenance and an increase in modern repair capacity. The event is attended by leading holdings of Rostec - manufacturers of power plants and equipment for the aviation industry.

The 12th National Exhibition and Forum of Civil Aviation Infrastructure is held on February 5 and 6 at Crocus Expo. The event is attended by the United Engine Corporation, KRET, Roselectronics and High-Precision Complexes.

Russia is one of several countries in the world capable of independently developing and producing aircraft engines. The development of domestic engine building ensures the technological independence of the aviation industry.[1]
