2025: System Development

On February 11, 2025, the Popular Front announced that the Kupol system had been developed in Russia to detect and suppress unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The complex, which is introduced into the security loop of several enterprises, is based on artificial intelligence technologies .

"Dome" is a software and hardware platform based on certified and declared equipment. It includes the Echo electronic reconnaissance station and the Trel electronic suppression unit. Specialized software with AI algorithms has been developed for the system, which allows you to detect even modified drone signals. This increases the efficiency of drone detection. AI helps to distinguish, in particular, UAV signals from aircraft systems.

In Russia, they developed and began to use the Kupol AI system to protect enterprises from UAVs

The creators compare the "Dome" system with the infrastructure of a smart home. The platform does not just unfold on site, but integrates into the existing security circuit of the enterprise. In addition, the architecture of the "Dome" makes it possible to introduce new solutions that appear in the process of developing technologies for protection against drones. Thanks to this, the system does not become obsolete, providing effective counteraction to drones of various generations. The platform can also be customized according to individual customer requirements. For example, the complex can be supplemented with video surveillance cameras.

Someone wants to direct cameras into the sky and analyze the airspace visually. Then we connect pictures from smart cameras to our system, display them on a single screen, and the monitoring complex is larger than just the electronic warfare system. In addition, we create user software adapted for people who do not know how to use a computer, the developers say.[1]
