This day in 1992 the DialogNauka company was founded. It takes the leading positions in the field of distribution of software products for protection against viruses, spam, network attacks, leak of confidential information and other threats of information security.

The 1C company holds the scientific and practical conference "New Information Technologies in Education". The purpose - discussion of current problems of development of the innovation infrastructure of educational institutions based on technologies of 1C.

The forum concerning information security from Kaspersky Lab will take place, the action will last till February 4 inclusive. This forum will be organized for the first time and intended to involve teachers in discussion of questions of pedagogics and a technique of education in the field of cybersecurity.

This day in 2004 the Facebook company was founded and almost at once attracted $0.5 million at one of founders of PayPal payment system — Peter Tiel. For the next year the startup managed to collect in hundreds times more of investments. At the moment the social network of the same name controlled by the company is the world's largest and totals about 500 million subscribers. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and the co-owner of network, is among the richest people in the world.

the same day in 1943 was born Ken Thompson, the engineer, the programmer. He is known as the person who jointly Denis Ritchey made a huge contribution to formation of the Si programming language and development operating system UNIX. In 1969 Ken Thompson together with Denis Ritchey developed own version of OS under the name UNICS which will receive the modern name a bit later - UNIX. After a release of the first version of UNICS, Ken developed a programming language of Bee (the predecessor of language Si). Bee's language was used for further development of UNIX. But soon, after emergence of Si which developer is in the most part of Ritchey Ken had to rewrite UNIX on it.

On Saturday the birthday is celebrated by one of the brightest IT persons of the Russian market, Natalya Kasperskaya, the chairman of the board of directors of Kaspersky Lab and also the CEO of InfoWatch company — developer of the systems of confidential information protection from internal threats. Before election on a post of the chairman of the board of directors was the head of Kaspersky Lab more than 10 years. Natalya is an ex-wife of Evgeny Kaspersky, the founder of the company which does not need representation, and the wife of one more famous IT professional – Igor Ashmanov.
