Content

The I-Teco company completed the project of development of the concept of the failsafe solution for information systems of JSC Nordea Bank. Within the project crucial processes and measures of ensuring uninterrupted operation of business of the customer at the emergencies affecting operability of the existing DPCs are described and formalized.

Bases and tasks

As a part of the main requirements of the customer to future solution demands of recovery time of data (RTO) – no more than 24 hours, to the level of availability of applications (Application Availability) – not less than 95% are made.

"The task comprehensively was set for consultants and flexibly in enough short time to develop the concept in which, in addition to the proposed technical solutions, plans and budgets of implementation, realities and features of the Russian market of hosting services for Russian government and foreign shareholders of bank should be reflected", – Arkady Zatulovsky, the director of information technology of JSC Nordea Bank explained.

Rezutata and terms

Project implementation is complete within four months. The concept was developed according to standards of Nordea Banking group, the international standard BS 25999, the Russian standards and laws, in particular service station of BR IBBS-1.0 "Information security support of the organization of a banking system of the Russian Federation", and taking into account specifics of business processes of bank.

The documents in the Russian and English languages containing the comprehensive analysis of information systems of bank in terms of otkazo-and disaster tolerance and also organizational structure in the field of management of IT in emergencies became result; the analysis of the Russian market of solution providers and services for creation of failsafe solutions; scenarios emergencies and recommendations about ensuring continuity of business processes; high-level designs of target technological solutions and plans of their implementation.

Project Results

On June 4, 2015 the companies I-Teco also Schneider Electric announced completion of construction data processing center Nordea Bank.

Specialists of I-Teco created disaster-proof infrastructure of data center in which reservation of all systems, including power supply (according to scheme 2N) and conditioning (according to scheme N+1 is executed), diesel-generator and fire extinguishing units. Engineering infrastructure of DPC is constructed on the basis of modular architecture of InfraStruxure of Schneider Electric company.

The total area of data center is 177 m ², the area of the machine hall - 70 m ². The total power consumption - 343 kW. The server hardware consumes 156 kW.

Principal components of engineering infrastructure of a data processing center are created on the basis of the solutions Schneider Electric:

  • in DPC 24 racks of NetShelter SX (load of 5-10 kW) in four isolated hot corridors (HACS) are set
  • for cooling eight intra line InRow RC conditioners with water heat exchangers are used
  • protection of power supply of the IT equipment two uninterruptible power supply units of Symmetra PX on 175 kW provide everyone
  • protection of engineering infrastructure is vyolnyat by two MGE Galaxy 5000 on 40 kW.

Conditioning and monitoring are implemented using the hardware and software systems Schneider Electric, in particular, the monitoring system is constructed on freely programmable Schneider Electric Xenta controllers and the software of StruxureWare Data Center Expert.

Construction of DPC is carried out in several steps:

  • design,
  • installation works and connection of the engineering systems,
  • testing,
  • commissioning
  • working off of critical and emergency situations.

Specialists of I-Teco with assistance of a team of the customer carried out approval of requirements and technical documentation with the state regulators that allowed Nordea Bank to receive additional computing powers.

According to the results of tests under control of the management of bank, DPC it is recognized fully to the conforming all requirements of the set Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and standards of international financial group: the data processing center was projected according to the TIER III standard.

"We together with experts of I-Teco developed the project on deployment of uniform failsafe infrastructure with implementation of plans for ensuring disaster tolerance (DRP) for compliance to standards of the Nordea Group on providing bank services. Creation of own DPC of bank in Moscow and its consolidation with two other our geographically distributed data centers became an important stage of the project, - Vladimir Dzhuma, the Head of Department on work with the Nordea Bank real estate noted. - The new DPC had to conform to all requirements of technical audit of the Nordea Group.
