Scientists Perm Polytechnic have developed that improves the neural network algorithm quality of turning. The university announced this on February 20, 2025.
For metal machining, enterprises use special machines that perform cutting, turning and grinding operations according to the specified programs. However, despite automation of the process, human participation in the control of the machine still remains. Often, processing modes have to be manually adjusted due to the changing properties of both the tool and the product during production. For February 2-25, it is actively developing and implementing in industry, the so-called adaptive control of machines, when the processing process automatically adapts to changing conditions. But for its implementation and stable operation, special mathematical support is required. Perm Polytechnic Scientists developed an adaptive control algorithm based on artificial intelligence. Its introduction into industrial activity will increase the productivity and quality of metalworking in Russia.
