The state University - Higher School of Economics (State University HSE) (SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise)

The state university – Higher School of Economics (State University HSE) - public educational institution of higher professional training. The Higher School of Economics is founded on November 27, 1992. Order of the Government of the Russian Federation. For October 1, 2009: 10,123 students, including 1922 listeners of a magistracy. 576 graduate students on 20 specialties. In State University HSE of 19 faculties and departments, 22 research institute and the center, 35 laboratories, including scientific and educational laboratories, 3 branches: in St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm. At the university the building block system works (the academic year is broken into 5 modules that allows to distribute optimum load of students and to provide constancy of efforts of students within a year). Assessment of the academic progress of the student consists of several components - the accumulative system allowing to estimate more objectively quality of knowledge of students is used. Annual rating of students and teachers is carried out.

Creation of the system providing access for the management of State University HSE to a source of the complete and reliable data relating to activities of the university for the organization and support of educational process and also – to web tools of the analysis of these data was a main objective of the project.

Based on the analysis of activity of State University HSE, specialists of LANIT proposed the solution of the tasks facing the university. The company of LANIT company, the partner of SAP became the contractor of the project.

Now implementation of the 1st stage of functionality of information system SINBAD (the System of Information Business Data analysis) which represents the complex, multi-purpose application of a business intelligence which is based on the uniform SAP BusinessObjects BI platform is performed.

At the first stage analytical opportunities of SINBAD allow to create an unlimited number of reports and also to quickly browse any cuts of data, to build non-standard reports without the address to IT specialists, to create diagrams and to use dashboards for increase in visualization of reports regarding the basic directions of the analysis of educational process (progress, transitions and expels of students, the structural list of entrants, students and the faculty of PPS, training payment and so forth).

The data provided by a new system are timely and relevant, thanks to automatic loading of information from the used information systems – sources (Support systems of educational process, the system of personnel records, an accounting financial system).
