2025: Building a Parking Space Management System

Rosatom Infrastructure Solutions JSC (RIR, part of Rosatom State Corporation) together with the Saratov administration creates a city parking space management system. RIR acts as an equipment manufacturer, software developer and implementation expert. The project includes various subsystems, specialized equipment, software, software and hardware complexes with cameras, a site, a parking application. Rosatom announced this on March 3, 2025.

As part of the creation of the system, its own complexes for photo and video recording of traffic violations and monitoring of vehicles, road signs, information signs were installed, road markings were applied and an automated information system for organizing, managing, controlling and administering paid parking lots in the city of Saratov was introduced.

The project was launched as part of a city program to improve infrastructure and improve the quality of life of residents. The change is aimed at streamlining parking space, reducing traffic jams and creating comfortable conditions for motorists and pedestrians. Paid parking will be introduced in the central areas of the city, where there is a high density of vehicles.

The work is carried out by a subsidiary of RIR "Urban Technologies."

As the head of the city directorate of transport and road activities Andrei Bondarev noted, in Saratov there is an acute problem with parking spaces. This is due to the increasing motorization of citizens. As of March 2025, there are 330 cars per thousand residents of the regional center. It is especially difficult to find free space for a car in the city center.

There are several main goals of the project. Firstly, this is an increase in the availability of parking spaces, and secondly, by reducing the time to search for free space - reducing the load on the road network. In addition, the organization of parking space contributes to improving visibility on the roads, which makes driving around the city safer for both drivers and pedestrians.
