2025: Introduction of MCDS and vending book apparatus
RUTI Inventas has completed a project to automate the Vladimir Regional Library for Children and Youth. The institution introduced an access control and control system (MCDS), as well as a book distribution station and a vending book apparatus. Now residents of Vladimir can take and return books without the help of a librarian at any time of the day. As of March 2025, the VOBDM book fund has more than 270,000 books. The library is visited more than 145,000 times each year. This was announced by "RUTI Inventas" on March 19, 2025.
The book distribution station and the vending book apparatus were developed by the RUTI Inventas team of engineers. Hardware and software complexes operate on the basis of RFID technology: books are marked with RFID tags, and the visitor is identified by the RFID reader's ticket. To simplify accounting, PAC is integrated with the automated library information system (ILS).
The book distribution station and the vending apparatus are manufactured in the Leningrad Region and combine equipment and software to solve the routine tasks of librarians:
- Automatic receipt of returned books through the book receiver
- Temporary storage of objects before they are processed by the librarian
- Issuance of books previously booked on the site
- Issuance of popular publications through a vending machine without prior reservation
Readers access to the library in 24/7 mode is carried out using the access control and control system (MCDS) connected to the ILS. At login, the system checks the status of the ticket and, if valid, opens the door. In case of errors or malfunctions, the system blocks access. In emergency situations, the doors can be opened using a special key.
Also, taking into account the wishes of the customer, the RUTI Inventas team has developed an individual cabinet design, including lighting, bright signs and a glass window.

Similar self-service cabinets have already been installed in the country's largest libraries. According to statistics, the self-service station contributes to an increase in interest in the library: the number of books taken increases to 50% per year. In addition, RFID automation frees up time for librarians for scientific and creative activities, }}
