2025: ProGenAI Program Presentation

The Skolkovo Foundation has developed the ProGenAI program for the development and distribution of generative artificial intelligence in industrial industries. It will allow accumulating and systematizing the advanced developments of the Skolkovo Foundation partners in the interests of production and is designed to ensure their readiness for a new technological structure. The Fund announced this on April 16, 2025.

On the ProGenAI platform, a multifaceted end-to-end expertise will be implemented to support the introduction of generative artificial intelligence into industry at all stages of the process - from R&D to scaling in production.

Competition in the global generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) development race presents Russia with serious challenges due to the difference in investment and physical infrastructure of leading vendors. Asymmetric development of domestic vendors is possible due to mass industrial implementation, which stimulates a constant flow of data for model training and obtaining valuable feedback. Experimenting with generative AI, companies in various sectors of the economy significantly increase the chances of integrating into the rapidly growing competitiveness at the world level, "Sergei Dutov, director of corporate innovation at the Skolkovo Foundation, emphasized the strategic demand for the initiative.

Among the partners of the project are research centers such as Skoltech and AIRI, which will allow participants to have access to best practices and algorithms, and develop solutions for production. Skolkovo partners are all key MLLM vendors - Sberbank, Yandex, MTC. An important element of the process of implementing advanced solutions, in addition to R&D and multimodal models, is the customization of developments and integration. In this part, the platform partners were: Reksoft, Softline, IC Ai-Teko. Using the internal expertise and products of more than 300 AI startups of the Fund, they form a solution in industry.

Industrial corporations actively piloting generative AI technologies in production, including Norilsk Nickel, Gazpromneft, NLMK, RMK, Sibur and other leaders, will share with the project participants their accumulated best practices.

In the course of the study with the participants of the ProGenAI platform, more than 30 practices for the use of GenAI in various sectors of the Russian economy and 100 international cases were analyzed, a base of best practices for the use of generative AI in industry was formed.

As practical tools aimed at successfully solving the problems of introducing generative AI in industries, the ProGenAI platform will provide access to strategic consulting, provide the opportunity to obtain analytics, including the necessary industrial specifics, involvement in specially developed educational programs, as well as GenAI championships in universities. For the best pilot implementations, various types of financial, grant support, as well as other preferences are assumed.
