Guangdong Rural Credit Cooperatives implements IT infrastructure from IBM

Agricultural credit bank Guangdong Rural Credit Cooperatives of China selected technologies of IBM corporation for creation of an all-corporate banking system for the purpose of support of the long-term business strategy and growth.

Solution

A new system is constructed on equipment rooms and software technologies of IBM, optimized for bank workloads and implemented in 23 member organizations of banking association Guangdong Cooperatives located in seven localities of the Province of Guangdong.

The new IT infrastructure constructed on the software of the IBM DB2 database will consolidate data and to integrate business processes of all members of banking association of Guangdong Cooperatives. The analytical software of IBM will allow Guangdong Cooperatives to analyze and study information on transactions of clients, and the software of IBM InfoSphere Information Server will support integration of all important data sources and to manage quality and completeness of information.

Objectives

The innovation IBM platform will help to consolidate Guangdong Cooperatives the existing IT systems and to replace inefficient or duplicative. It will also provide full-scale information representation on clients and also to define new market opportunities and to make more informed risk management solutions and to selection of the credits.

Besides, the member organizations of bank cooperative will be able to improve processing of personal loan applications, executing these transactions more effectively and accurately and also much quicker – not in weeks as earlier, and for few days.

In the middle of 2011 project completion is planned. 99 member organizations of bank cooperative and its 5600 operational departments will be able to use a new system for implementation of 15 million transactions a day with higher performance and efficiency.

The single system connects all municipal and district departments of the union and is integrated with all other banking activities. As a result, Guangdong Cooperatives will serve as the center of transaction processing, a data processing center and clearing center for all province.

Hardware solution

As a part of the project, IBM transferred key business applications and a basic banking system to the server hardware platform consisting of the IBM Power 595, IBM Power 570 servers and blade servers of the Power family, and the platform of data storage DS8300. The IBM Power Blade servers, with their unified control functions, allowed bank to perform quickly consolidation of these and all other transactions in the provincial centers.
