2025: Transition to domestic PBX

Avantelecom"" translated telephony Far Eastern State University of Railways into. Russian software This "" was Avantelecom announced on April 22, 2025.

Avantelecom specialists transferred the telephony of a higher educational institution in Khabarovsk - the Far Eastern State University of Railways (DVGUPS), from foreign Cisco equipment to a local PBX of its own design by a company included in the register of Russian software. The project was implemented within the framework of the state program for supporting universities "Priority 2030."

During the project, the PBX was integrated with the existing infrastructure, consisting of a different fleet of telecommunication equipment, and combined a geographically distributed telephony system in several branches of the institution. The backup system allows the organization to continue working even in case of serious hardware failures, switching to a standby server takes less than 60 seconds.

For April 2025, we completed the first part of the project to reorganize communications at the university. Cisco's proprietary telecommunications equipment has been partially preserved. Its peculiarity lies in the fact that it supports work only with its own software. The next stage we plan to re-engineer this equipment and integrate it into the general telephony system based on the Avantelecom PBX. We have the successful experience of several similar projects under our belt, "said Vladislav Viryasov, director of Avantelecom.

A call center of the institution was also deployed on the basis of the updated PBX. 15 additional modules optimize the operation with incoming calls, including automatic processing of missed calls, auto-informing, recording of conversations and assessment of the quality of operators.

The university now has a telephone system that is especially effective during peak periods - during sessions and admissions campaigns. IP-telephony is built on the basis of Russian software and works stably in any conditions. A fault-tolerant system has been created, which is now successfully functioning, - said Vladimir Nikolaevich Shishkov, head of the Security, Signaling and Communications Service of the DVGUPS.
