2025: Creating a Digital Budgeting Environment

Company Information and Project Prerequisites

Kursk AgroActive LLC is a division of the agro-industrial holding AgroTerra, which operates in several regions of the Russian Federation. Before the launch of the project, budgeting in the company was carried out using third-party software that was not integrated with other corporate IT systems. This caused difficulties in data management, increased labor costs and reduced planning accuracy.

Project Objectives and Objectives

The main goal of the project was to transform the budgeting process by creating a single digital space based on "1C: ERP. Management of the holding" and the module "1C: Agro-industrial complex." It was supposed to completely automate all stages - from planning and coordination to analysis of execution and adjustments. Particular attention was paid to the consolidation of budget data with the exception of intra-group turnover and the implementation of an end-to-end approach available to all participants in the process.

Implementation features and uniqueness of the approach

The project was distinguished by a high level of adaptation to the specifics of the agricultural business and a comprehensive approach to automation. Key solutions include:

  • Driver-based budgeting. Key figures are calculated automatically on the basis of source data coming from external systems, excluding manual input from Excel.
  • Automation of logistics cost calculations. Tariffs, distances, volumes of transportation, as well as the balance between own and attracted transport are taken into account.
  • Individual settings for departments. Each department receives an adapted interface for working with the budget, which increases the involvement and accuracy of data.
  • Integration with external systems via the Kafka data bus. Two-way data exchange with agricultural systems and BI-platforms was implemented.
  • Digital circuit of agricultural production. Data on sowing areas, fertilizers, seeds, etc. are used as a basis for the formation of plans and calculations.

Solution Architecture and Project Scale

Within the framework of the project, a centralized architecture was introduced on the basis of "1C: ERP. Management Holding" with a module for the agricultural sector. The solution covers the entire enterprise structure and supports the parallel work of more than 400 users. Integration with external data sources is carried out via the Kafka bus, providing automatic exchange of information in both directions.

For example: the "Field History" system receives technological maps of crops from ERP, supplements them with data on seeds and fertilizers, and then returns the result back to 1C. This data calculates variable costs, planned revenues, and generates aggregated budgets by business line. The total values are sent to the BI system to build management reporting.

Implementation Results and Effect

The project has become a significant stage in the digital transformation of financial management in the company. Among the results achieved:

  • Shorten the budget cycle. Automation has significantly reduced labor costs and accelerated planning processes.
  • Increasing the analytical value of work. The financial service focused on analysis and forecasting, moving away from routine data processing.
  • Unification and adaptation of interfaces. The units received convenient forms for self-working with budgets.
  • Online access to actual data. Thanks to integration, actual figures are automatically compared with planned ones, providing high transparency.
  • Strengthening manageability. Management has received reliable tools for analyzing deviations and prompt decision-making.
