2025: Product Announcement
At the end of April 2025, the company Azimuth"," which is part of the state corporation, Rostec introduced a new monopulse radar MVRL 2700, designed to control airspace in the airport zone. The development, created with support, Ministries of Industry and Trade Russia successfully passed certification tests, demonstrating a range of 400 km, which is two and a half times the basic requirements.
According to the press service of Rostec, the new radar is designed to control air traffic and determine the coordinates of aircraft via a secondary channel both in the airport area and on airways outside the airfield's zones of responsibility. Switching between modes is carried out programmatically at the touch of a button, and all collected information is automatically transmitted to air traffic management centers.
Stanislav Khramov, director of R&D project management at Azimut, noted that in the airfield mode, the coverage range exceeded 400 kilometers with a basic requirement of at least 160 kilometers. In his opinion, the demonstrated characteristics bring the product to the highest level not only in Russia, but also on a global scale.
Equipment tests were carried out at the Penza Air Traffic Organization Center of the Central Volga Air Navigation branch with the participation of independent experts who confirmed the declared technical characteristics of the radar.
An important advantage of the new development is the possibility of its use at airfields located in various climatic zones. The radar antenna is capable of trouble-free operation at ambient temperatures from − 50 ° C to + 50 ° C, which allows the device to be used almost throughout[1]
