The project started in 2007. Then the company bought 10 licenses Rational DOORS for requirements management, 6 licenses Rational Change for change management of data of lifecycle and 10 licenses Rational Synergy for version control of the initial and performed codes of the software of the developed systems and devices.
In the years ahead in process of use of the Rational tools in new projects additional licenses were purchased.
So, the Rational DOORS, Change and Synergy tools were used by the Ulyanovsk design office of instrument making when developing the block hub of data to the new passenger airplane Dry Superjet 100. In DOORS development of requirements of all levels, from requirements of the customer to requirements of the low level to the software was executed, and their traceability is set. In DOORS other data of system processes and development processes of the software were also placed. Means of Synergy provided versionny control of the initial and performed codes of the created software versions. Registration of messages about problems and change management of the data which are in DOORS and Synergy were provided using Change.
The Rational tools allowed to provide configuration management of the system processes and development processes of the software given lifecycle according to requirements of KT-178V and other standards applied during creation of the block hub of data.
Now DOORS, Change and Synergy are widely applied to development of requirements and data management of lifecycle in project works on creation of the aviation systems of the new TU-204SM, MS-21 airplanes and also systems and the equipment for the perspective helicopters developed by JSC MVZ im. M. L. Milya companies, JSC Kamov and JSC Kazan Helicopter Plant.
In recent years with implementation in Russia of the western aviation standards requirements to technology of creation of the aviation systems and development of their software significantly changed. In 2004 the standard "Qualification requirements Kt178v was entered. Software requirements of onboard equipment and systems at certification of the aircraft equipment" (an analog of document RTCA/DO-178B/ED-12). According to the representative of JSC Ulyanovsk Design Office of Instrument Making Zharov S., "Transition to the KT-178V standard demanded to change radically the technology of software development existing at the enterprise and, first of all, to solve problems of configuration management of data of lifecycle. However up to 2007 for a variety of reasons we did not decide to purchase specialized solutions for software development and data management of lifecycle of system processes. Four years ago, relying on experience of the western companies which widely used DOORS when developing the aviation systems, we addressed to IBM. The solutions IBM Rational help us to optimize each of design processes, give the chance to provide requirements of aviation standards to technology of development of systems and to create the qualitative product much more corresponding both to requirements of the customer, and requirements to aviation security.
It is also necessary to note that since January 1, 2011 aviation R-4754 standard (ARP-4754 analog) which is cardinally changing technology of development of the aviation systems in which special attention is paid to development process of requirements and also questions of configuration management of these processes of lifecycle of systems is enacted. Without existence of the modern tools allowing effectively it will be simply impossible to solve such problems, to execute development of the aviation systems"
