2025: Production Launch

Serial production of reconnaissance drones "Sparrow" with the function "flying binoculars" launched Russia on order. Ministry of Defence The design bureau "" was engaged in the development of the model. Stratim The devices are designed for visual observation and adjustment of artillery fire. This became known in June 2025.

According to Izvestia, the drone is a quadrocopter-reconnaissance, the most compact and convenient for carrying in combat conditions. The drone received a hull with folding rays and screws, which facilitates its transportation and deployment in positions.

The device is produced in two versions - day and night with a thermal imager. The founder of the Stratim Design Bureau with the call sign Obi-Wan noted that a drone created using artificial intelligence technology can independently recognize targets, in particular military equipment.

The drone is capable of hovering, automatically maintaining its location. This function provides the most efficient operation in the "flying binoculars" mode, allowing you to transfer a clear picture to the command and observation post. A camera with powerful digital zoom provides good video quality.

Drones are controlled by an operator, and reconnaissance and target designation are conducted on a digital channel. In this case, it is possible to use a backup analog channel to exit the interference zone created by electronic warfare systems. This provides EW-stable communication of the domestic development "Posemka."

Technical characteristics of the Sparrow include a range of up to 10 km and an altitude of up to 500 meters. The drone can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h and stay in the air for up to 40 minutes. Drones are already being tested in the zone of a special military operation, and the developers are actively collecting feedback from fighters for further improvement.[1]
